My Sunday funday started out with an early morning hike up Camelback Mountain. You know never in my life have I waken up at 3:40am for a hike. I must be crazy. The things I will do for adventure. With the ridiculous heat in Arizona it either calls for super early hikes in Phoenix or driving 2-3 hours up north to beat the heat. These days I’m totally down for the early sunrise hikes. Sunrise is MY happy hour.
This was probably thee hardest 2.5 miles I’ve ever done if I’m being honest. I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures because I was too busy huffing and puffing up that damn mountain! This hike was hard because it was all uphill with some climbing over rocks and scrambling. I knew it was going to be a harder hike but this one was definitely a booty kicker.
At one point I wanted to give up and turn around because that would have been the easy thing to do. Nope! I kept trekking on, paced my self, and damn did I feel good when I made it to the top! I was treated to an incredible view of Phoenix. It was sooo worth it! I couldn’t have done it without the encouragement from my fellow Moutain Chick.
It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.
